Café 21 launches a new live music series


Grab a seat at downtown's farm-to-table eatery Cafe 21 and groove to live music in the bar area. Known for its fresh sangarias and epic breakfast menu, Café 21 has invited award-winning musicians

to perform for its new live music series, happening daily. Guests can grab a seat at the bar for a drink or in the dining room for dinner and enjoy a different genre of music each night including: Rock 'n Roll, Pop, Opera, Flamenco, Classic Rock, and Country. The same musicians will be performing every week on their designated music genre night.

Here's the lineup.

Monday - The UpShots

San Diego trio The UpShots are known for covering of the best rock music from the '50s, '60s and '80s.

Tuesday - Rebecca Jade

San Diego Music Award-winning artist Rebecca Jade has opened for Boyz II Men, Erykah Badu, Vanilla Ice and was described by the Huffington Post as having a voice that "conveys a touch of Etta James, a dash of Nina Simone and hints of Aretha Franklin…”

Wednesday - Daniel Hendrick

Known as "Mr. Amazing," tenor and composer Daniel Hendrick has performed in opera halls all over the world and was acclaimed by the New York Times for his “rich, secure tenor.”

Thursday - Flamenco night

Friday - Camía

Tijuana folk singer-songwriter Camía's musical influence comes from listening to her mom sing the songs her father used to compose.

Saturday - Marcela Mendez

Lead singer of San Diego’s popular pop-rock cover band HoneyRock, Marcela Mendez, her acoustic music and soaring vocals have been compared as a cross between Adele and Stevie Nicks.

Sunday - Nathan Stickman

San Diego singer-songwriter and guitarist Nathan Stickman is known for performing laid-back acoustic, melodic country-rock.
