Dark Horse Coffee Roasters has open its 4th location in San Diego in La Mesa. Located on 4350 Palm Ave., this location opens to the public at 6:30 a.m. serving in-house roasted coffee along with popular specialty drinks and house-made donuts, waffles and toast.

“We’re stoked to have found a spot in La Mesa,” says Daniel Charlson, owner and founder of Dark Horse Coffee Roasters. “La Mesa has long been on our radar, and we’re excited to offer a more convenient location for our La Mesa and El Cajon customers. We look forward to meeting the community, too, providing coffee and our knowledgeable, friendly service.”

Since opening its first location in 2013, Dark Horse has steadily built its customer base by serving a wide variety of single-origin Direct-Trade coffees in pour over and whole bean form, along with one of San Diego’s best cold brews. Additional specialty drinks include the beloved “Champ”- a delicious honey and cinnamon concoction, the Salted Maple and Matcha lattes. Baristas take their espresso seriously, providing a slightly sweet, well-rounded, and full bodied extraction. The La Mesa location features the popular “Skinny Donuts”, sweet and savory Liege hand waffles, and specialty toasts.

Dark Horse Coffee Roasters sources its coffees through Direct-Trade, meaning the roasting team has travelled to Ethiopia, Guatemala, Colombia and Kenya to personally meet the farmers, and create sustainable relationships for both parties and the years to come. Charlson plans more sourcing trips later this year.

The other locations include North Park, Normal Heights and Golden Hill.

La Mesa location is located on 4350 Palm Ave near Collier Park.
