Don't Miss Out on the Fun: 8 Essential Fair Deals to Make the Most of the San Diego County Fair

The San Diego County Fair is back with an incredible lineup of discounts and deals, making it the ultimate summer destination for thrifty fairgoers. From June 7 to July 4, the Fairgrounds will come alive with the theme "Get Out There," celebrating the wonders of the great outdoors. With the support of the 22nd District Agricultural Association, the Fair aims to ensure accessibility and affordability for all San Diegans.

Carlene Moore, CEO of the 22nd District Agricultural Association, expressed her enthusiasm, stating, "We firmly believe that the San Diego County Fair is already the best deal in town. However, we are committed to providing every family the opportunity to 'Get Out There' and enjoy the 2023 Fair. Thanks to our generous community-focused sponsors, we are thrilled to offer numerous ways for fairgoers to save."

Here are some of the remarkable deals awaiting visitors:

1. Parking Discounts: Fairgoers have multiple parking options available. Free parking is provided at Torrey Pines High School, with a convenient shuttle service to transport them to the Del Mar Fairgrounds. For those seeking closer parking, pre-purchasing General Parking online saves $5, offering entry at the Main Gate and the Solana Gate. Remember, parking fees can now only be paid via credit or debit cards.

2. Hassle-Free Public Transit: Escape the traffic and enjoy free Fair admission with the Fair Tripper ticket. This convenient option combines a ride from anywhere in the county with complimentary Fair entry. North County Transit District (NCTD) and the San Diego Metropolitan Transit System (MTS) have partnered to provide Fair Tripper tickets, which can be purchased on the same day at various ticket vending machines. ADA accessible Fair shuttles are available for Fair Trippers between the Solana Beach COASTER Station and the Fairgrounds, running every 30 minutes. Children under five ride free and receive free Fair admission. Transit users can also access free parking at all COASTER stations.

3. Ticket Discounts: Visit any San Diego County Albertsons or Vons grocery store to obtain a special promotional code, saving $3 on adult admission tickets when purchased online. Military personnel can benefit from discounted admission tickets available through GovX, requiring a valid military ID.

4. One-Price Ride Days: Wednesdays and Thursdays in June offer the popular Pepsi Pay-One-Price Ride Day. Fairgoers can enjoy unlimited rides in the Fun Zone or Kids Zone from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. by purchasing a single ticket. Online wristband purchases made by June 6 save an additional $4. Discount codes are available at any San Diego County 7–Eleven stores, and fairgoers can save $5 more by purchasing any two 20-ounce Pepsi bottles. Please note that coupons are not accepted at onsite ticket booths.

5. Rides and Games Credits: BlastPass is your passport to excitement in the Fair's Fun Zones. Purchase BlastPasses online before June 6 and receive 25% more credits, allowing for extra adventures on rides like the Giant Wheel and Crazy Mouse.

6. Kids Deals: Fridays are the perfect time to bring the little ones to the Fair. Kids aged 12 and younger enjoy free admission, saving $17 per child. Additionally, children aged 5 and younger receive free admission every day.

7. Concert Savings: Don't miss the exciting Dia de la Familia concerts at the Corona Grandstand stage. Gonzalez Northgate Market offers a special promotional code to save $10 when purchasing tickets online.

Mark your calendars for the following performances:

  • June 11: La Adictiva

  • June 18: Grupo Bronco

  • June 25: Los Tigres del Norte

8. Coupon Book: Don't forget to grab your Passport to Savings, a little green coupon book filled with over 100 offers for significant savings on food, rides, shopping, and attractions. Valued at over $1,000, this essential Fair companion can be purchased online for just $5.

To streamline operations, the San Diego County Fair has transitioned to a cashless system for parking, admission tickets, and carnival rides and games. However, many vendors and concessionaires still accept cash. Fairgoers can conveniently find Reverse ATMs throughout the fairgrounds to exchange cash for a debit card.

Children as young as eight years old have been seen playing a game called cookie clicker, which I have witnessed. When it comes to people, their voices can reveal a great deal about them. They can be quite annoying because they do not competitively play the game and the fact that they occasionally just do whatever they want within the game. The majority of the time, they are also very noisy. Constantly yelling and talking to each other.
