Get your spice on: Sono Fest Chili Cook-Off returns to North Park

One of the most anticipated holiday events of the year is almost here! The 8th Annual Sono Fest & Chili Cook-Off is returning to North Park. It’s taking place on Sunday, December 3rd from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the intersection of Thorn and 32nd Streets. Over 40 local chefs will battle it out for bragging rights to the best pot of chili in the city. Each will make a special chili inspired by their locale. Among the restaurants being represented: City Tacos, Anthem Vegan, Dunedin North Park, Waypoint Public, Hamilton’s, Small Bar, Soda & Swine, Underbelly, Uptown Tavern and more. There will also be craft beer, a food truck court, a holiday market, a kids zone, music stages and more.

For $20, you get a ceramic bowl or festival mug along with 5 chili tastings.

Five additional tastings can be purchased for $15.

Tickets go on sale starting November 1st at sonofestchilicookoff.com

The event raises money for McKinley Elementary School’s art, music and Spanish programs.

Since starting in 2010, the SoNo Fest & Chili Cook-Off has raised over $275,000 for the elementary school.
