Have Your Waffles, and S’more, at Cafe 222 on National S’mores Day

May we please have s’more waffles? In honor of National S’mores Day, Cafe 222 will offer waffles inspired by America’s favorite campfire treat exclusively on Friday, Aug. 10. Created by proprietor Terryl Gavre, Cafe 222 will feature s’mores waffles in honor of the holiday. The melt-in-your-mouth treat will come together in a graham flour waffle, topped with marshmallow fluff, chocolate sauce and graham cracker crumbs, priced at $12.50. Cafe 222

Cafe 222, opened in 1992 and has grown with the surrounding area to become a staple for locals and visitors alike. Owned and operated by restaurateur, Terryl Gavre, Cafe 222 features a cozy interior that reflects the quirky, eclectic cooking style of Gavre. The menu features an array of creative breakfast and lunch dishes, including pumpkin waffles, which were featured in Gourmet Magazine, and peanut butter and banana stuffed French toast, which were highlighted on Food Network’s “Best Thing I Ever Ate.” Cafe 222 was awarded the Gold Medallion for ‘Best Breakfast’ by the San Diego chapter of the California Restaurant Association 13 times since 2003 and is open daily from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m.
