4 oz. Cruzan aged light rum
1 oz. Maison Rogue Vsop
3 oz. orange juice
1 oz. pineapple juice
1 oz. freshly squeeze lemon juice
.50 oz. orgeat syrup
.25 Old Harbor Rum
Garnishes: Oranges and edible orchids
What’s the origin of the Scorpion Bowl?
The original origin is a spot called the Hut in Honolulu. Many tiki bars have done a riff on it (sometimes many different different versions) over the years, especially the great's Trader Vic and Don the Beachcomber.
How did you come up with the presentation?
The presentation is pretty classic! We love a drink we can serve in a bowl because there is such a fun energy and social aspect to it. When it comes to the Scorpion Bowl, you expect fire and booze!
How would you describe the taste to someone who hasn’t had this before?
Fruity with a sting! One sip with your eyes closed and you are on a tropical vacation!
What would be the key component in this drink?
Rum and Fire!!!

What reactions do you get from customers when they try this cocktail for the first time?
Excitement over the presentation. Delish as they consume. I think I left my credit card a day later!

I was born in San Diego and raised in Colorado. This is the third time living in this beautiful city. I've been back for over three years now. Third time's a charm.
How did you get into bartending?
I began bartending in Denver. I was a cocktail server and I loved watching the bartenders do their thing. I've always been just fascinated with the craft of creating fun cocktails.
When you’re not mixing drinks, what are you doing on your spare time?
If I'm not behind a bar slingin' drinks and catching things on fire, you can find me slummin' it on the beach with my dog, Bentley.
