Aw Shucks, Q&A Oyster Bar Is Now Open

Aw shucks, summer’s over! But with Autumn comes oyster season and there’s no better place to cozy up to fall than at newly opened intimate cocktail restaurant, Q&A Restaurant and Oyster Bar. Q&A occupies the ground floor of The Brick Hotel in Downtown Oceanside.

It’s the namesake restaurant for Executive Chef Quinnton ‘’Q’’ Austin, Co-Owner of Louisiana Purchase in North Park, who designed its entire menu. There are huge seasonal differences in the flavor of the oyster, similar to vintages of wine. While oysters are available and served year-round, during the months of September and October oysters are their plumpest and sweetest.

The bar’s oyster selection is sourced from the West and East Coasts, along with the Gulf Coast of Louisiana. Q&A’s Poppa Legba are cooked over an open grill with a sriracha lime butter sauce, ghost jerk spice, cilantro, and lime.

Apart from its oyster menu, Q&A features NOLA classics, from Uptown Gumbo and Crawfish Etouffee Catfish, to a Frenchmen Strip and Shrimp Jambalaya Risotto. The cocktail menu boasts French Quarter style cocktails like the King Creole, made with a house rum blend, creole shrub, caramelized pineapple, and cinnamon.
